Thailand Approves Foreign Banks to Sell 66 Billion Baht of Bonds

Jan. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Thailand’s finance ministry gave approval to seven foreign companies including Citigroup Inc. to sell a combined 66 billion baht ($2.1 billion) of baht- denominated bonds by the end of September.

Citigroup, Hana Bank, Industrial Bank of Korea, Export- Import Bank of Korea and Korea Natinal Oil Corp. will each sell 10 billion baht of bonds, while Australia & New Zealand Banking Corp. and Korea Development Bank will each sell 8 billion baht of bonds, the finance ministry said in a statement today.
