Citigroup’s Buiter Says Irish May Need Second Aid Plan, RTE Says

January 09, 2012

Jan. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Citigroup Inc. Chief Economist Willem Buiter said Ireland should negotiate a stand-by second bailout plan in the event it can’t re-access markets by the end of its current program on favorable terms, according to Dublin-based broadcaster RTE.

Ireland should avoid trying to secure a second rescue “in a state of near panic at the last minute,” RTE reported on its website today, citing Buiter.
