Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies are having unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 12:58 p.m. in Buenos Aires.
The Merval Index rose 0.8 percent to 2,737.77.
Molinos Rio de la Plata SA (MOLI AF) advanced 3.2 percent to 30.25 pesos. Argentina’s largest food producer agreed to pay $5 million for Sipco Asesorias & Inversiones Ltda., a Chilean company with interests in local pork producers, according to a statement posted today on the website of the Buenos Aires exchange.
YPF SA (YPFD AF) gained 2.1 percent to 169.5 pesos, and earlier rose 4.8 percent, the most in two months. Argentina’s largest oil company discovered a deposit of conventional oil in the province of Neuquen that may contain as much as 40 million barrels of resources, the Buenos Aires-based company said in a statement yesterday.
