Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks were little changed as larger-than-forecast growth in American jobs failed to extend a weekly rally and lift the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index above its October high.

The S&P 500 fell less than 0.1 percent to 1,281.01 at 9:31 a.m. in New York after rising 1.9 percent in the first three days of the week.
