Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Santiago.
The Ipsa index rose 0.3 percent to 4,201.48. The MSCI Chile index advanced 0.3 percent to 2,312.17.
Cia. Cervecerias Unidas SA (CCU CC) advanced 2.1 percent to 6,348.5 pesos, leading gains among members of the Ipsa index. Chile’s largest brewer is scheduled to report today preliminary fourth quarter volumes, according to the company’s website.
Empresas CMPC SA (CMPC CC) retreated 0.1 percent to 1,922.3 pesos. Chile’s second-largest pulp exporter said a forest fire that killed six firefighters and injured two in the country’s south was started by arsonists, according to a statement e- mailed yesterday evening.
Empresas Copec SA (COPEC CC), Chile’s largest pulp exporter, rose 0.3 percent to 6,861.2 pesos. The company’s plants at the Nueva Aldea complex may resume normal operations in the coming days, after a forest fire destroyed a $100 million plywood plant on Jan. 2, Copec said yesterday in a statement.
