Chilean Stocks: Copec, Vapores, CMPC, Entel, Iansa, Quinenco

Jan. 4 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Santiago.

The Ipsa index rose 0.8 percent to 4,198.12. The MSCI Chile index advanced 1.4 percent to 2,311.32.

Cia. Sudamericana de Vapores SA (VAPORES CC) rose 0.7 percent to 105.7 pesos, its fourth day of gains. Latin America’s largest container shipping company and Mediterranean Shipping Company agreed to combine shipping operations from Asia to Turkey and other Black Sea ports.

Empresas CMPC SA (CMPC CC) advanced 0.5 percent to 1,929.5 pesos, its second day of gains. Chile’s second-largest pulp exporter estimated $3 million in losses from recent forest fires, Diario Financiero said.

Empresas Copec SA (COPEC CC) increased the most in three weeks, adding 1.5 percent to 6,891.6 pesos. The company’s forestry unit Celulosa Arauco & Constitucion SA plans to sell 10-year dollar bonds overseas.

Empresas Iansa SA (IANSA CC) jumped 9 percent to 41.63 pesos. The sugar producer has increased 12 percent in the past three days after being included in the benchmark Ipsa index.

Empresa Nacional de Telecomunicaciones SA (ENTEL CC), Chile’s second-largest mobile-phone operator, rose 0.1 percent to 9,767.1 pesos. The country’s antitrust tribunal suspended Entel’s takeover of GTD Grupo Teleductos SA pending an investigation into mitigation measures.

Quinenco SA (QUINENC CC) fell 0.4 percent to 1,259.9 pesos. The holding company of Chile’s Luksic family sold $204 million worth of inflation-linked bonds due in 7 years and 21 years.
