KGHM CEO Says New Copper Tax Proposal ‘Step in Right Direction’

Jan. 3 (Bloomberg) -- The updated formula for a new copper and silver tax that Poland plans to introduce this year is a “step in a right direction,” Herbert Wirth, the chief executive officer of the country’s sole copper producer of the metals KGHM Polska Miedz SA, told TVN CNBC television today.

The formula, published by the government yesterday, is still “unsatisfactory” compared to the global standards, Wirth said.
