Jan. 3 (Bloomberg) -- The Australian and New Zealand dollars extended gains after a report showed China’s non- manufacturing purchasing managers’ index for December rose to 56 from 49.7 the previous month.
Australia’s currency strengthened to $1.0288 as of 12:14 p.m. in Sydney from $1.0265 before the data and $1.0234 yesterday. New Zealand’s currency advanced to 78.22 U.S. cents from 78.03 before the report and 77.84 cents yesterday.
