Russia Probes Transneft, Opens Cases Into Energy Utility Graft

Dec. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Russia started investigating allegations of corruption at oil pipeline operator OAO Transneft and opened “a number of” criminal cases relating to graft at state energy companies.

Executives at Federal Grid Co. and MRSK Holding were dismissed following investigations by the Energy Ministry, which has turned over the results to law enforcement agencies, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin told Premier Vladimir Putin, according to a transcript of the meeting on the government website.
