Dec. 29 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies’ shares may have unusual moves in European trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
The Stoxx Europe 600 Index dropped 0.7 percent to 240.20. The Stoxx 50 Index declined 0.6 percent to 2,329.47. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark measure for nations using the euro, retreated 1.5 percent to 2,255.03.
Petroplus Holdings AG (PPHN SW): The European refiner fighting to secure crude supplies amid a $1 billion credit freeze said it may have to start shutting plants if it can’t come to an agreement with lenders. Petroplus declined 11 percent to 1.65 francs.
UCB SA (UCB BB): Belgium’s biggest drugmaker named Michele Antonelli as managing director of its French business and said Chief Operating Officer Mark McDade will take over Antonelli’s current mandate as head of technical operations. UCB rose 1.6 percent to 32.28 euros.
