UniCredit May Sell Shares to State-Backed Fund, Sole Reports

Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- UniCredit SpA, which plans to raise as much as 7.5 billion euros in a rights offer, may sell shares to Fondo Strategico Italiano SpA, a state-backed fund, Il Sole 24 Ore reported, without saying how it obtained the information.

UniCredit is also in talks with the Qatar Investment Authority, the daily newspaper said. The bank plans to sell stock at as much as 45 percent below the market price, the newspaper reported.
