Monti’s Budget Plan Survives Confidence Vote in Italy Parliament

Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti’s government won a confidence vote in the lower house of parliament on a 30 billion-euro package of austerity and growth measures.

A final vote will be held this evening before the package passes to the Senate, which is set to vote on the plan on Dec. 23.
