Dec. 12 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Defense Department today notified Congress of plans to sell an additional batch of 18 F-16 jets to Iraq valued at as much as $2.3 billion.
The fighter planes are made by Lockheed Martin Corp. The package announced by the Pentagon on the Defense Security Cooperation Agency web site includes ammunition, radar, and communication systems to go with the airplane.
The first batch of 18 F-16 planes was announced in September 2010.
