U.S. Sale of Gulf Oil Leases Attracts 241 Bids From 20 Companies

Dec. 13 (Bloomberg) -- The first lease sale for oil production in the Gulf of Mexico since BP Plc’s spill in 2010 attracted 241 bids from 20 companies, the Interior Department said.
Interior Secretary Ken Salazar will open bids for tracts off the Texas coast at an event in New Orleans tomorrow, according to a statement today by the agency.
