Thailand Stocks: Aapico Hitech, BEC World, Kiatnakin, Phatra

Dec. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 10:10 a.m. local time. Thai markets were closed yesterday for a public holiday.

The SET Index rose 0.1 percent to 1,035.11.

Financial Companies: Kiatnakin Bank Pcl fell 3.4 percent to 35.5 baht and Phatra Capital Pcl slid 3.6 percent to 33.25 baht. The companies on Dec. 9 announced a plan to merge through a share swap.

Aapico Hitech Pcl (AH TB), an auto-parts maker, jumped 4.7 percent to 11.1 baht, poised for its highest close since Sept. 29. The company’s net income rose 63 percent in the third quarter, it said in a regulatory filing after the market close on Dec. 9.

BEC World Pcl (BEC TB), a free-to-air television broadcaster, rose 3.1 percent to 41.5 baht, headed for its highest close since Sept. 16. The company received more advertising bookings this month after demand dropped by about a third in November amid flooding in Thailand, the Post Today newspaper reported, citing Vice President Chatchai Thiamtong.
