Dec. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura said reports that the government has made a decision to award its jet fighter contract to Lockheed Martin Corp.’s F-35 Joint Strike Fighter isn’t true.
The Yomiuri newspaper today said the government has decided on the F-35 and will make it formal on Dec. 16, without saying where it obtained the information.
Fujimura spoke to reporters today in Tokyo.
