DirecTV Starts High-Speed Wireless Internet Service in Brazil

Dec. 13 (Bloomberg) -- DirecTV started offering a high- speed Internet service in Brazil using a wireless technology called Time-Division Long-Term Evolution.

The satellite-TV carrier is initially selling the service in Brasilia and plans to expand to other parts of the country over the next two years, with speeds of as much as 4 megabits a second, Bruce Churchill, chief executive officer of DirecTV’s Latin America unit, said today in a phone interview.
