U.K. Bank Mergers Should Need Regulator Approval, Advisers Say

Dec. 12 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. banks should need the agreement of the financial regulator to make acquisitions, according to a report by Treasury Select Committee advisers Bill Knight and David Walker. They commented in response to the Financial Service Authority’s report on the Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc published today.
