Dec. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Authorities in central China’s Hunan province will detain two men for five days for spreading a “rumor” on the internet that 5,000 policemen and 100 police vehicles were seen guarding a wedding convoy, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
The two men posted a video clip online showing crowds of police officers and a wedding convoy on a street in Changsha, capital of Hunan province, according to Xinhua. Police said the officers were returning from a training session and were by coincidence passing the wedding convoy, Xinhua reported.
The two men, both in their twenties, will be detained in accordance with relevant laws, Xinhua reported, citing local police officials.
