U.S. Stocks Erase Losses as Commodity, Consumer Shares Advance

Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks erased early losses as commodity producers and consumer companies led the market higher following an early drop triggered by an unexpected increase in jobless claims.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index was up less than 0.1 percent to 1,247.08 at 9:53 a.m. in New York after dropping as much as 0.4 percent.
