Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Pakistan’s stock exchanges, banks, central bank, and businesses will be closed on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 for the religious festival of Ashura, the ninth and 10th days of Muharram, the first month of the Muslim calendar.
They will reopen on Dec. 7, according to notices issued by the Karachi Stock Exchange and the central bank.
Ashura marks the anniversary of the death 14 centuries ago of Imam Hussein, Prophet Muhammad’s grandson.
