Ireland’s Noonan Says ECB Hasn’t Proposed Taking Greater Role

November 30, 2011

Nov. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Irish Finance Minister Michael Noonan said the European Central Bank hasn’t proposed stepping up its response to the debt crisis.

“Obviously the issue of central bank involvment is something that’s discussed on the margins of the conference,” Noonan told reporters after meeting with his European Union counterparts in Brussels today. “But there is no proposal from the ECB at this stage.”
