Nov. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Barclays Plc’s investment banking unit said it hired Nicholas Wright, a former managing director at Credit Suisse Group AG, as chief of Japanese global markets.

Wright joined Barclays Capital on Nov. 25 to run the Japanese arm for bond, currency and commodity markets, said Marina Totsuka, a Tokyo-based spokeswoman for the U.K. bank.

Wright, who also worked at Morgan Stanley, will additionally oversee Australian bond trading from Tokyo, Totsuka said. He was recently based in Australia managing companies including a hedge fund, she said.
