U.K. Stocks Extend Gains as Banks Climb; FTSE 100 Gains 1.4%

Nov. 25 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. stocks extended gains, halting the longest losing streak for the FTSE 100 Index since 2003, led by a rally in banks.

The benchmark FTSE 100 rallied 1.4 percent to 5,197.76 at 3:19 p.m. in London, snapping a nine-day retreat. The gauge earlier fell as much as 1 percent.

Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, Lloyds Banking Group Plc and Barclays Plc all advanced more than 2 percent.
