Nov. 24 (Bloomberg) -- European Central Bank Executive Board Member Jose Manuel Gonzalez-Paramo said that euro bonds will exist in future even if they aren’t appropriate for the euro region in its current state of development.
“Euro bonds will exist in the future, there’s no doubt,” Gonzalez-Paramo said in response to questions after a speech in Oxford, England today. “At this point in time they would not be commensurate with the degree of integration in the euro area.”
“If you have a euro bond without a common budget, you are offering an easy way out for countries,” he said.
