Nov. 24 (Bloomberg) -- French Finance Minister Francois Baroin said that Germany and France will seek to include measures to push euro-region countries toward an increased coordination of their budgetary policies in upcoming amendments to European treaties.
Baroin spoke on Europe 1 today after a meeting of leaders of France, Germany and Italy in Strasbourg. He said the euro- area’s building ’’wasn’t optimal’’ and needs to be fixed.
President Nicolas Sarkozy will make a speech before a summit in Brussels on Dec. 9 and unveil further measures France plans to fight the economic crisis, he said.
