November 22, 2011, 6:32 AM ESTBy Stephen Gunnion
Nov. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd., the second-biggest producer of the metal, said the number 7 shaft at its Rustenburg operation remained closed after two workers were killed in a “fall of ground event” on Nov. 18.
Other shafts at Rustenburg had resumed operations, Alice Lourens, a company spokesman, said by phone today. She was unable to comment on when the No. 7 shaft would resume operations or how much production had been lost.
