French-German 10-Year Yield Spread Reaches Two Percentage Points

November 18, 2011

Nov. 17 (Bloomberg) -- French 10-year bonds fell, increasing the additional yield investors receive for holding the securities instead of benchmark German bunds to more than 2 percentage points for the first time since the euro was created.

The 10-year French yield increased eight basis points to 3.79 percent at 9:02 a.m. London time, leaving the difference in yield, or spread, with similar-maturity German debt at 200 basis points.
