Nov. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 11 a.m. local-time close.
The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, rose 0.8 percent to 390.89, the first gain in eight days.
Bibica Corp. (BBC VN), a manufacturer of confectionery products, gained 1.9 percent to 10,500 dong, a one-week high. Gross revenue may be 1.05 trillion dong ($50 million) this year, beating the company’s target by 5 percent, Deputy General Director Phan Van Thien said in a phone interview today. A production line shut by a fire in May will be restarted in late December, he said.
PetroVietnam Transportation Corp. (PVT VN) advanced 2.6 percent to 4,000 dong. It posted a third-quarter after-tax profit of 17.2 billion dong, compared with a loss of 44.8 billion a year earlier, according to an exchange statement.
