Nov. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s motorcade was pelted with rocks, eggs and paintballs as she travelled through the Philippines capitol of Manila today.
The secretary was not injured in the incident, which occured at 2:45pm local time, said State Department spokesman Mark Toner. There were no other reported injuries, Toner said.
There were about 50 people “who threw eggs, paintballs and rocks at the lead car” apparently to protest a military agreement between the U.S. and the Philippines, Toner said. The motorcade had just left the presidential palace.
