Nov. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Boeing Co. won an order from Qatar Airways Ltd. for two 777 freighter planes, bringing to 10 the number of purchases for the wide-body aircraft that the U.S. planemaker has clinched with the Doha-based carrier this year.
The order was announced at the Dubai Air Show today. The two aircraft are valued at $560 million at list price, according to Boeing. Qatar Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said the purchase was “natural for us” and called the 777 the “best freighter aircraft in the world today.”
On the first day of the show, Boeing won an order from Emirates for 50 777-300ER planes, solidifying its lead in the market for wide-body aircraft.
