Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) -- George Karatzaferis, leader of Greece’s opposition LAOS party, told reporters in Athens today that he opposed the selection of House Speaker Filippos Petsalnikos as head of an interim government and insisted an invitation should be made to former Greek central bank head, Lucas Papademos.

“I said from the start I didn’t want Petsalnikos,” said Karatzaferis, who leads the fourth-biggest party in the Greek Parliament. “I had supported Papademos. They will do great harm to the country if they don’t choose Papademos.” His comments were televised on state-run NET TV.
