November 09, 2011

Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) -- The Czech Republic’s PX equity index dropped 0.5 percent to 904.2 by its 4:28 p.m. close in Prague.

The following were among the most active stocks in the Czech market today. Stock symbols follow company names.

Erste Group Bank AG (RBAG CP) of Austria declined from this month’s high, falling 1.8 percent to 373 koruna. Komercni Banka AS (KOMB CP), the Czech unit of Societe Generale SA, lost 2.9 percent to 3,249 koruna. Financial companies led global stocks lower as Italian bond yields surged to euro-era records after a clearing firm raised the deposits it demands for trading the nation’s securities, intensifying the European credit crisis.

New World Resources Plc (NWR CP), the biggest coking-coal producer in the Czech Republic, declined 4.4 percent to 139.5 koruna. Europe’s benchmark coal futures contracts slid for a second day to $118.15 a metric ton in the Netherlands, poised for a one-week low.
