Nov. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are at 10:05 a.m. in Taipei.
The Taiex Index rose 0.2 percent to 7,614.89.
HTC Corp. (2498 TT) gained 1.3 percent to NT$648. The smartphone maker’s October sales rose 39 percent from a year earlier to NT$44 billion.
Kinko Optical Co. (6209 TT) surged 6.9 percent to NT$42.65, set for the biggest advance since Sept. 7, after the company’s October sales gained 60 percent from a year earlier to NT$399 million.
Rodex Fasteners Corp. (5015 TT) lost 1.5 percent to NT$16.50, set for the biggest drop since Oct. 14. The maker of stainless steel wires and screws said October sales fell 35 percent to NT$140 million from a year ago.
