New Zealand’s Mighty River Agrees to Study Geothermal Generation

Nov. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Mighty River Power Ltd., a New Zealand government-owned generator, has agreed to study and develop a geothermal project on the Taheke field, near Rotorua on the nation’s North Island.

The Te ia a Tutea Development will proceed with support from Okere Inc. and Ruahine Kuhara Inc. who represent local Maori interests, Auckland-based Mighty River said in a statement.
