Indonesia Approves Plan for Genting’s Ande-Ande Lumut Oil Field

Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Indonesia has approved a development plan for the Ande-Ande Lumut oil field that is operated by a unit of Genting Bhd., according to Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik.
“With the approval, they can start working on the concession,” Wacik told reporters in a press briefing today.
Ande-Ande Lumut, operated by Genting Oil Natuna Pte Ltd., is expected to produce 5,000 barrels of oil a day starting from the end of 2014, Gde Pradnyana, spokesman for the country’s energy regulator BPMigas, said in a text message today. The offshore field is in the Northwest Natuna block.
Genting Oil has four oil and gas projects in Indonesia and also operates in China and Morocco, according to the website of its Malaysian parent company.
