Samaras Says Papandreou Playing With Greece’s Future in Europe

November 01, 2011

Nov. 1 (Bloomberg) - Antonis Samaras, the leader of Greece’s biggest opposition party New Democracy, repeated his call for elections, saying Prime Minister George Papandreou’s decision to call a referendum placed Greece’s future and place in Europe in danger.

He spoke to reporters in Athens today after meeting with President Karolos Papoulias.

“Elections are now not just a request but a national imperative,” he said.
