Nov. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Hutchison Whampoa Ltd., the company controlled by billionaire Li Ka-shing, said it’s not in discussions with the owners of Dublin-based Eircom Group Ltd.

“Hutchison is not in talks on Eircom,” the company said in an e-mailed statement.

Without citing anyone, the Sunday Times reported Oct. 23 that Hutchison had discussions with the senior lenders to Eircom and that the debt holders had talks with several potential buyers.

Eircom Group on Oct. 28 said it received two proposals and an approach from a third party to restructure the company’s financial position.
