UBS Expanding Currency Strategy, Sales Teams in Tokyo

Oct. 28 (Bloomberg) -- UBS AG plans to hire foreign- exchange strategists in Tokyo by early next year in tandem with an expansion of its sales team, spokesperson Eiko Noda said today.

UBS established the expanded sales team as of Oct. 1 with four people reporting to Managing Director Joe Etheridge, according to Noda.

Toshimasa Fujii, who joined UBS in August from Barclays Bank PLC Tokyo, is the head of e-commerce sales. John Shen- Nagakura is the head of corporate sales and joined from Societe Generale SA in September. Ko Haruki came to UBS from Goldman Sachs Group Inc. this month and is the head of real money sales, working with Kentaro Noguchi. Hirotsugu Inoue was named as the head of foreign exchange with banks.
