U.S. Stocks Advance as Consumer Data Help S&P 500 Extend Rally

Oct. 28 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks rose, extending a fourth straight weekly rally by the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index, after consumer confidence topped projections and Americans increased spending.

The S&P 500 added 0.2 percent to 1,286.94 at 3:54 p.m. New York time. It fell 0.6 percent earlier.
