Berlusconi Says Markets ‘Don’t Forgive’ Italy’s Debt

Oct. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said financial markets “don’t forgive” Italy for its large public debt and that the euro is a “strange” currency that “hasn’t convinced anyone.”

European Union leaders have fully backed Italy’s plans to cut its debt and boost economic growth, Berlusconi also said in remarks in an address at an event in Rome today. The address was broadcast live on Sky TG24.
