Zambian Inflation Rate Falls to 8.7% in October, Agency Says

Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Zambia’s inflation rate decreased to 8.7 percent in October from 8.8 percent a month earlier, said John Kalumbi, an official from the Central Statistics Office.

The southern African nation posted a 4.4 percent increase in its monthly trade surplus to 923.3 billion kwacha ($188 million) in September, Kalumbi told reporters today in Lusaka, the capital.

Zambia is Africa’s biggest copper producer.
