Sarkozy Says Summit Failure Would Have Caused Catastrophe

Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- President Nicolas Sarkozy said a failure of European leaders to reach an agreement to tackle the region’s debt crisis at a summit yesterday would have resulted in catastrophe.

“If there was no accord yesterday, it’s not just Europe that would face catastrophe, but the whole world,” he said on French television.
