Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Prime Minister George Papandreou said he hoped the agreement reached at the European Union summit early today will be enough to calm financial markets.
“The negotiations were long and difficult,” Papandreou told Greek President Karolos Papoulias in statements televised live on state-run NET TV. “We managed to lift a big burden of debt which was carried by the middle-class,” he said.
