Finland’s Government Proposes Raising Cigarette Tax by 10%

Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Finland’s government proposed raising the tax on cigarettes and cigars by about 10 percent at the start of 2012, the Helsinki-based cabinet said in an e- mailed statement today.

Finland would get about 53 million euros ($74.3 million) more tax income as a result of the increase, the government said.
