European Central Bank Said to Be Purchasing Italian Debt Today

Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- The European Central Bank bought Italian government securities today, according to two people with knowledge of the transactions. They declined to be identified because the deals are confidential.

A spokesman for the Frankfurt-based ECB declined to comment when reached by phone.
