China May Start Fewer Than 10 Mln Social Housing Units in 2012

Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- China may start construction of less than 10 million social housing units next year, China’s Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Jiang Weixin said in a webcast today.

The investment in social housing may be higher or the same as this year, he said. China may adjust the previous five-year construction target of 36 million affordable houses, Jiang said.
