Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Azerbaijan and Turkey are considering building a new gas pipeline across Turkey, State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic, known as Socar, said at ANS private television channel today.
“This will be a new pipeline,” said Socar President Rovnaq Abdullayev. “All issues concerning it will be done in 2012 and we will try to start construction as soon as possible. We plan to finish it by 2017.”
Apart from Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s ventures, foreign companies can participate in the construction project, Abdullayev said.
