Oct. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are at the close in Taipei.
The Taiex Index rose 0.6 percent to 7,535.82, the fourth day of gains.
AU Optronics Corp. (2409 TT) dropped 2.8 percent to NT$12.30. The company’s third-quarter net loss was NT$15.8 billion ($523.7 million), wider than the NT$5.55 billion average of 18 analyst estimates.
E Ink Holdings Inc. (8069 TT) lost 4.4 percent to NT$65, the steepest decline since Sept. 29, after its client Amazon.com Inc. reported a plunge in third-quarter profit. E Ink is a supplier of Amazon.com’s Kindle.
Yulon Motor Co. (2201 TT) climbed 6 percent to NT$64, the highest close since Sept. 5. The carmaker expects sales of its Luxgen-branded cars in China to rise to 50,000 vehicles next year, from 10,000 this year, the Commercial Times reported today, citing Wu Hsin-fa, president of the company’s China unit. Shiao Ming-Huei, a spokesman for the company, didn’t immediately answer calls to his office.
