October 26, 2011

Oct. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum was paid $239,153 last year to appear on News Corp.’s Fox News, according to his personal financial disclosure form released today.

Santorum, a former senator from Pennsylvania, reported overall income of $896,037. In addition to the Fox News position, he was paid $83,999 to host a radio talk show and $23,000 to write a column for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

He received $217,385 as a senior fellow at the Washington- based Ethics and Public Policy Center, which has published papers opposed to abortion rights and same-sex marriage.

Santorum, 53, also was paid $65,000 as a consultant to the American Continental Group, a lobbying firm whose clients last year included Comcast Corp., Pfizer Inc., and Toyota Motor Corp.

His contract with Fox was ended earlier this year as he geared up for his presidential bid.
